Turron
Ingredients
3 cups (320 g) ground Marcona almonds
2/3 cup (200g) honey
2 tbsp maple syrop
1 egg white
1. If using whole almonds, grind them finely in food processor.
2. You can either toast the ground almonds in a skillet over low heat or in the oven. Stir often to make sure the colour doesn't turn too dark. You are looking for a golden tone.
3. In a saucepan, gently heat honey and maple syrop together. Stir until well combined and consistent.
4. Beat the egg white and mix with the previous mixture.
5. The last step is to combine all the ingredients together - almonds, honey mixture and egg. For nicer consistency, use food processor until a cohesive mass is formed.
